2012 Rose Parade - FAS Volunteer Orientation

The primary Rose Parade First Aid volunteer orientation is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd @ 8:30am.  We encourage all volunteers who can to attend this orientation as most of our coordinators will be in attendence and it is the best opportunity to meet with your station leaders.  This briefing will cover all aspects of First Aid Services at the Rose Parade, including structure of the 2012 parade operations, communications issues, (see training schedule), equipment, procedures, documentation, medical protocols, uniforms and interaction with other event staff, including representatives of the Tournament of Roses Association, Pasadena Fire Department, law enforcement and others.

Following this orientation in the afternoon will be the first of our new RPFA Communications Trainings.  Attendence at one of these trainings is mandatory for all first-time RP/FAS volunteers and all volunteers (including returning volunteers) who expect to use a radio during the event.

For those who can not attend the Saturday volunteer orientation or communications training due to scheduling conflicts, there will be a second orientation on Sunday, December 4th @ 12:00 noon.  There will be a second RPFA Communications Training on Sunday December 4th @ 08:30 (depending on sufficient signups).

The location of these briefings is the Red Cross SGPV Chapter Headquarters: 430 Madeline Drive in Pasadena (subject to change).

Additional trainings may be added if the need arises.
